Sit down in our trendy Chicago cafe seating area and call the place yours with free WiFi and superb Intelligentsia coffee and Sugar & Spice pastries, as well as a light menu of sandwiches and soups. Melt away your stress over a latte, tea, house blend coffee and a decadent pastry. Separated from the main cafe by soundproof glass, kids play in view nearby in a mind-stimulating indoor playground while you take in the cafe ambiance of the Family Grounds Cafe experience.

A Chicago Indoor Playground for Kids

Separate from the main cafe, the 1,500 square foot indoor play space – complete with perimeter seating – is kid-heaven. With a victorian playhouse and pretend marketplace, a performance stage, mini-basketball court, train table, construction zone and arts and crafts galore, let the fun begin. Parents! Join in for a total family experience! Family Grounds Cafe play space monitors, will assist and guide children in learn-play activities like story time and crafts. The Family Grounds Cafe "Common Room"
 

Art and music are important for child development. Nestled between the indoor play space and the main cafe seating area is the Family Grounds Cafe Common Room. The Common room serves as our storytelling and arts & crafts room. Additionally, used as an education enhancement center, your child has the ability to engage in hands-on learning surrounding art, music and more through our structured "Chicago Kids Classes".
