Happy Labor Day - Ponder the Good Times

Whether it is the Memorial Day or Labor Day weekend, one thing is always cookin’ – family time.  Can any other weekend be any better to announcing the opening and closing of the summer season?  Both three-day holidays are held in high esteem in our hearts, and we consider both long weekends a time for good family bonding and reflection.  Memorial Day – you look forward to planning your summer.  Labor Day – you recount the warm memories served during the three months. 

Our summer was an extremely busy one.  In fact, summer unfortunately zipped by.  The birth of our daughter, Liviya, on June 26 was the brightest day, followed closely by the opening of Family Grounds Café on August 25. Both “births” had us in preparation mode – something always had to be done.  Could we relax? No!  If it wasn’t baby prepping the house, it was painting, hammering and city-inspection meetings with the café.  Nonetheless, from a life standpoint, the summer of 2009 will go down as one of the most challenging yet rewarding summers of our lives.  A dream set 10 years ago finally came full circle, and the family expanded to five.
